Chapter Meeting Info
We meet the 3rd THURSDAY of each month at 7 PM. We gather at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church at 101 North Peachtree Pkwy- Peachtree City, GA 30269. All modelers are welcome, beginners to advanced, aircraft, armor, ships, automobiles, trucks, figures, etc.
Our chapter began almost fifty years ago on the Southside of Atlanta when a local FAA Air traffic controller named Jim Galloway, out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, organized the first meeting at a local fire station in Morrow, Georgia. It was initially known as IPMS- South Metro Model Society and many of the members were employed in the airline industry. Jim was an aviation enthusiast, modeler, and career-family man. His first love was his family and his second love was airplanes. Later he also enjoyed collecting NASCAR models. Jim served as our Chapter President for thirty-five years until his passing in 2009. Out of appreciation and affection the members unanimously voted to change our chapter name in remembrance of Jim and all he did for our club and the hobby.
