Chapter Bio
The club initially began as a chapter of the IPMS/USA in the late 1970s among a group of scale modeling enthusiasts in the Cedar Rapids, Marion and Iowa City area. The club maintained its national charter into the mid-1980s but let it lapse. The club continued as a non-IPMS club until the late 1990s when it again decided to re-form as an IPMS chapter. This took place about 1997. The club changed its name from the Eastern Iowa Scale Modelers to the Alexander Lippisch Chapter after receiving its national charter. Chapter founding members include: Alan Griffith, Loren Pike, Bob Miller, Ray Mehlberger, Brad Smith, Andrew White, Nick Allen, James Bowers, Tom Boyle, Mrs. Alexander Lippisch.
