Chapter Bio
The Jack Wyzlic Polish Coast Watchers chapter of IPMS USA is a group of scale model enthusiasts who welcome modelers of all genres. The chapter was chartered in 1975 and has a long history of model building, convention/swap meet attending, community outreach and fun. See the July-August, 2021 issue of the IPMS USA Journal for a history of the club including the answer to the question most asked of members, "Where did that name come from?" There is also a description of how the club hosted a 1/1 scale R-2800 aircraft engine at Jack Wyzlic's house for several years.
Along with spectacular scale model building of all types, R/C submarines and ships, detailed 3-D printed models, and trains too, the club members have also written 5 articles for the Journal and served as contest judges at regional and national conventions.
The current community outreach project, is a donation of "Who Were the Tuskegee Airmen" books to a class at Lincoln School in Peoria along with member visits to the class to discuss the book and build model gliders. Then the students get to fly the gliders in the school library, Wow!
Encouragement, sharing, fellowship, and fun occur at every meeting.
The JWPCWatchers are flying, armoring, marching, sailing, and railroading into a bright, scale modeling future.
